The ISTAT Foundation is actively engaged in helping young people develop potential careers in aviation by offering scholarships of up to $10,000 directly to college-level students who are academically qualified, in need of financial support to complete their studies, and will be a student at your university in calendar year 2011. The program is administered by the Scholarship Committee of the ISTAT Foundation Board of Trustees in conjunction with accredited colleges who recommend qualified students.
The program begins annually in the fall. The 2011 scholarship applications will be send out in have been sent out. Application material is sent to all participating universities at this time. Qualified institutions are invited to submit one (1) application for consideration. If you are a university representive and would like more information about how your instituation can get involved, please contact rholloway@istat.org for more details.
All applications must include the following parts:
- ISTAT Application Form
- Students Resume
- Personal Statement
- ISTAT Financial Aid Form
- Two (2) letters of recommendation from employers or faculty members
- Copy of transcripts
Applications must be received at the ISTAT Foundation office by 15 October 2011 to be considered for the award. Incomplete submissions and those received after the deadline will not receive consideration, as all applications need to be complete in order to be fairly evaluated. Applications must be submitted through a school administrator for consideration. All scholarship recipients will be notified by December 2010 of the status of their application.
The 2011 Scholarship Committee is comprised of Roland Moore, Dana Lockhart, Julian Balaam, Jon Batchelor, Vito La Forgia, Chris Partridge, Ken Perich, Sonny Stern, Steven Townend and Rebecca Holloway.
